LABOR’S RETORT FOR RAHM
Organized labor will urge Mayor Rahm Emanuel to cut City Hall’s bloated management ranks rather than laying off front-line city workers, according to a draft union report obtained by the Chicago News Cooperative. The not-yet-released report will be labor’s formal response to Emanuel’s lay off plans.

POLITICAL JACKPOT
Gambling interests have donated $812,000 to state lawmakers, Gov. Patrick Quinn and Emanuel since Jan. 1, 2010, the Tribune reported. With a major gambling expansion plan in the balance, the state’s top gambling regulator says Illinois should ban contributions from gaming interests.
