1. these people are insane...
what if their is a national emergency and you have to spend a lot of money really quick.

Do you call back congress and have some ass hat senator filibuster?

Jesus, they just don't get it.

A country is not run like your mom and dad ran the household by sitting around the kitchen table and figuring out what to pay...

7. Mom & Dad
when Mom & dad have cut and cut and still don't have enough, SOMEONE gets a 2nd job..

We need more people working & paying IN, and more RICH folks paying their fair share..

Eliminate the cap on FICA (and include ALL income..not just payroll)
Restore tax rates for those over 500K to pre 1990 rates
put an EXCESS tax in place to catch the gougers
slap on a 25% tariff for "American" companies whose goods are made elsewhere..treat them like imports

that should go a long way

2. BUT THAT is a 15 sec commercial with a message!! WE need!
the point is the repugs are winning on the clever words. The other day it occurred to me that saying: the pen is mightier than the sword. The repugs have control of the PEN, we have to sharpen ours and get back and reach out to the people.

9. And the goper plan is just about as worthwhile as
duck and cover, too.

By the time I was ten years old, I think I understood that duck and cover was worthless.

4. Me too. Yesterday I posted an interview Ron Johnson did with CBS...
He blamed Obama for getting the country into this debt mess, and said it would be solved via "Cut, Cap And Balance" I later found the source-Boehner... And Boehner is a ALEC member. He has been involved with them since 80's....

14. It allows low info voters to sound informed when they spew talking points.

It is a very elementary way of teaching things (they use it on Barney and Sesame Street).

But this is the only way to get the messages out to these types of tools...and they USE them repeatedly.

I always laugh when I hear these gomers and goobers around here talking about these "issues"...but never realizing they are being brainwashed. Lakoff was very astute when he called them a "frame".

Here is a great site that talks about this stuff:
http://www.memepolice.com/

>>>snip
What's in a Meme?

Think you're not brainwashed? To some extent, we all are. Your beliefs, no matter what they are, are influenced by a huge array of thoughts and ideas from your fellow humans. If you can use a web browser and reached this site, you've probably encountered thousands of these ideas. A normal mind can't help but be influenced; and is thus at least slightly, somehow, brainwashed. Human societies are based on this principle. You can't avoid it, it's normal and not altogether bad, but you can be aware of it and help control who is doing it.

A potent type of idea for brainwashing is the "meme". For our purposes, a meme is a political concept which takes on a life of it's own. It usually has a succinct name or description, and is easily understood. Here's some examples:

Welfare State
Flip-flopping
Free Market
Eco-terrorist
Feminazi

Each of these expressions could mean a lot of things, but when we see them in the media, we know exactly what they mean. Their wide use creates what George Lakoff calls a frame.
