So the President is adressing us at 21:00 EST. |

Edited on Mon Jul-25-11 05:21 PM by nadinbrzezinski
Folks the made up crisis is now very real... and I have no idea how they will walk it back, and I mean BOTH sides.
I hope he goes for the 14th amendment, that's it.
SORRY

1. he might... at least threaten to use it. |
|
I hope he does. Its risky but I think it worth the risk and I think he will come out looking like a hero.

5. I really don't think he'll use the fourteenth amendment. |
|
He doesn't seem to like never been done before, possibly risky, outside the beltway moves AT ALL. I have very little hope for his address tonight, although it gives me no pleasure to say so.

6. I am sickened by the leaders and politicians of both parties |
|
playing this high stakes game of chicken. They are so damned focused on winning some political advantage that they have forgotten the people they are supposed to serve. Color me unimpressed.

18. Question is: why do we let them? |
|
Rhetorical, of course.
It's not like I really expect our government to ever be populated by a group of decent moral humane people dedicated to representing, advancing and protecting the needs and interests of flesh and blood people. That's never been true.

9. Reports say that revenue is off the table |
|
I suppose Obama will gloss over this travesty, if it is indeed true. I'm back to the Health Care debate: no Public Option, no support. No revenue, no support.
Of course, none of this matters to those who are in power anyway; but at least I sleep well.

10. I still don't believe default is a real possibility. |
|
Edited on Mon Jul-25-11 05:26 PM by Marr
I think the "grand compromise" is basically set and the politicians are just wringing every last ounce of fear and political cover out of this thing as possible before it's passed. What it boils down to is that big business will lose money if there's a default, and that's not going to be allowed to happen. And as for those "crazy teabagger reps"... bullshit. I expect they'd be some of the cheapest to buy off.
