Bwaaaaaahahahaha! (to quote malaise). The Tea Party is becoming a nightmare for
the Republicans.

Heard a Congressman on Ed's radio show, said that many of the Republicans want to vote to raise the debt ceiling, but because of these Tea Partiers that were elected they know if they were to vote in support of it, they'd be primaried next election. The congressman said, "they're looking over their shoulders". Says Boehner is hog-tied because of this, too.

I LOVE it! Hats off to the Koch Bros!

1. So scared of losing their jobs, pathetic.
We really need term limits.

Tea Baggers are a nightmare for the GOP!

Couldn't have happened to a more deserving bunch of evil poptarts!

5. Imagine a 1 term limit on all elected office
Politicians wouldn't base every vote on whether or not it gets them re elected

23. +1 to this post.
If I were to list all the reasons why this country is going into the rubbish bin, that one would be #1 on my list. So many of these problems with our politicians could be easily solved with the application of a 1 term limit.

2. Boehner has spent a lot of time advocating for the teabaggers, and is really
just doing what they want: walking out and saying no to everything. He doesn't seem hog-tied to me, he is singing the teabaggers' song

14. Seems that way, but I figured the guy who works with him in Congress
would have a better take on him than I.

3. You do know... that WE get screwed in the bargain, as well...
I don't get this celebration of the defeat of any moderate RETHUGS who might, just might be willing to be the necessary votes for any less than horrendous compromise.

15. Well, we got screwed in part because we didn't turn out to vote to
"show the Dems" we were pissed.

17. Yet, you are rooting on the Teabagger's in their successes?
Huh? This "We" doesn't know any among her friends, neighbors, acquaintances who did NOT turn up, by the way. In fact many of us have manned the voter registration and voting precincts for years. And, while some disenchanted Dems may not have shown up, I surely don't celebrate the teabaggers' in attempts that could devastate us now and in the future.

18. Just read through DU and you'll see many chose not to vote during
mid-terms.

And I'm only celebrating the chasm in the Republican Party that the Teabaggers are causing. I think we will benefit from that.

19. I am really interested to learn how you think we will benefit...
Yes, disorganization among the RW might help us, but when the extremist positions win out and Obama is left holding the bag (and blame) for our first default because the teabaggers intended that from the beginning, I just don't see how we benefit.

just seems like a positive thing to me.

4. The Teaparty is a Frankenstein monster of the Republicans own making
It's pieced together from all the hate filled parts of their party. A little racism here, a little sexism there, a little RW radical Christian here; then spice it all up with some good ol' gay bashing and shake well. Viola, you have the Teaparty. These minority nutters are now holding the Republicans caucus hostage. Wow. How low the mighty GOP have fallen.

The contempt and bigotry are palpable.

6. This is what happens....
...when you start relying on uneducated, overly-emotional, clueless extremists to vote you into office. For those of you who've known me the past couple of years, I've not too big on liberal extremism either. Always be pragmatic. Extreme rhetoric may get you elected to office, but your time of governing will be brief.

Wouldn't it be nice if there were a liberal equivalent to the tea baggers that the Democrats in Washington would listen to?

11. They're just using that as an excuse. There are ways to get the Teabaggers
to do what they're suppose to do. Remember the SICK Medicare bill the repukes passed? Remember all the members they threatened if they didn't vote for it? One member was CRYING from the threats. There are ways to make the thugs do what they're suppose to do. The Elite thugs are just using the Teabaggers as an excuse...a way out. They actually believe people don't think they're really a bunch of racists and that's why they're doing this.

12. They probably are going to lose anyway whether in a
primary or the general election, so they really need to live dangerously and do the right thing. It may be what makes them keep their seats after all.

20. Do any of these people put their country ahead of their own self-interest

I would like to believe that at least some of them are there to do what they believe is right, even if we may disagree with them, frequently, on what that is.

But to trash the country because "I might get primaried" is downright craven.

22. Nope - somebody posted that his/her 80-+ something father said
(paraphrasing) these people hate the President and the Democrats so much they're willing to destroy the country.

Wish I could remember it exactly, but you get the gist and I think that sums it up perfectly.
