Who still has faith in this process? |
|
This is nothing more than a chess match being played by both sides to rile up their respective bases.
It's nothing new. It's just the latest in a string of similar issues.
Members of both parties engage in dividing the American people to the point that we're arguing with friends, relatives and co-workers (if you have any) over issues that -- let's face it -- very few people, including those in government, really understand. Throw in some sure-fire social wedge issues and it's the perfect recipe for getting people angry at each other and taking their eye off the real ball in this game.
Meanwhile, the leaders of both parties and their bedmate fat-cats on Wall Street and in the corporate boardrooms, are running away with all our money.
Wake up.

Then again, the illusion of "twoness" is how their bills are getting paid.
For now.

4. I suggest you buy yourself a copy of Howard Zinn's |
|
History of the United States and read it and then think about it and then read your OP.
Back in the eighteen nineties, the Republican Party had ads in Chicago newspapers that supported the Haymarket and Pullman strikers.
Now less than 110 years later, and we don't have either party caring one whit about working people.
Neither party.
So it actually is pretty new.

11. I suggest you consider the term "lip service." |

That's all those ads were. And that's all the speeches are now.

It's been a good run and I am going down fighting (non-violently, of course). The American Sheeple are hanging on for dear life as the corportists decide how to slice and dice the remainder of the middle class pie.

If the country hadn't gotten stupid and sent the Boehner GOP gang to congress, there wouldn't have been a problem.

We, the citizen audience, are royally fucked. Only question is whether the final curtain will be slow or swift.

and the extension of the tax cuts. From that point, all was lost for Progressivism. We have to wait through more years of bad economics, bad policy and compromise with radicalism, and no representation.

Sometimes there isn't a solution to a problem.
But that doesn't mean the problem deserves any endorsement.
