1. When he doesn't believe what he's selling, he is dry and boring.

5. I don't see what good is does to ask the populace to 'call your representative to COMPROMISE'!
The Republicans do not WANT to compromise one iota. No amount of calling will change that.

7. I want to have the point that 98% of Americans won't see
a tax increase. I am tired of the disegenous R talking point about "we can't tax the American people NOW!!" Makes it sound like it is ALL of the American people who would be taxed under the wild-eyed SPEND SPEND SPEND Dems!

9. Not much to go on really.
No details of any deal. I personally don't really care what the two sides are saying, I want to see what they do.

Did like his invoking of Reagan, and mentioning how many times Ronnie and GW raised the debt ceiling. Anytime you can use Reagan against his blowhard worshipers is entertaining to me.

11. It was a speech like many others. For every finger pointed at "the other" 3 fingers point back
to the source. This bargaining with terrorists stuff is so damn discouraging.

We shall see where all this goes in no time.

13. He did well. He made the case well, spoke to MOST Americans well, and put a lot of pressure on the
R's. Sorry if he didn't pound his chest hard enough for some who think this is FRINGE Underground, but he did well. Chest thumping is not always necessary. W did enough of that.

30. I think the speech was good it was suppose to put heat on the cooku bird tea bagger's
in congress. I think it will. Boehner looked all out of sorts in his speech. So I think it had the effect Obama wanted.

32. Great, but not uplifting.
I'm just not sure it's possible to make an uplifting speech on this topic. It's about money, so people watch their "uplift" meters.
