President Obama has asked for our help. LET'S DO IT!
A few days ago, I started a thread asking everyone that had a freshman Republican to bombard them with calls and emails

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=439x1540893.

I think I had 5 responses, but who the fuck am I?

Now, our president has asked us to do the same. At present, our country is being held hostage by Tea party douche bags that represent 13% of the country.

If you need help writing or calling, PM me. It's not that hard but our voices must be heard.

TY

13. Surrender makes a person a guaranteed Loser. Continuing the struggle keeps the struggle alive &
creates the opportunity for something beside a total LOSS.

23. Me neither, I WILL call them and tell them to keep their hands
off SS, Medicare and Medicaid and to stop lying about it having anything to do with the deficit.

Then I will tell whoever I get on the phone, as I have done already several times, that they better get their act together and start raising taxes, ending the wars, and raising the cap on SS and stop imagining that we are all stupid out here.

Republicans probably won't listen for long once they know you are not one of them, so you have to make it short and quick.

As for compromise, I'll leave that to the dreamers and idealists. We cannot compromise away the only means of survival for millions of America's most vulnerable.

maybe sway things back in our favor. Did the same shit in the mid-terms and that's why we have the fuckwads in Congress right now. Actions..or lack thereof have consequences. Shame everyone suffers...

I'll do my part and call.

Something is always more than nothing and it's especially more, when without that something there'd be 0.

20. The thing about compromise is that it DOES work both ways: can't GET it if you don't GIVE it.
Edited on Mon Jul-25-11 08:51 PM by patrice
And that goes for both sides, otherwise it is not a compromise.

38. One side wants to gouge out everyone's eyes
You want to compromise and take only one eye from each victim.

They've gone way too far and we should be at war with them.

30. Thanks for all the replies so far
One of the rules in the Republican play book is always appear to be in the majority, even when you're not. It's worked well so far.

We have to prove that they are NOT the majority, WE ARE!

TY!

34. President Obama wants ME to help HIM...
"Trim Entitlements" and drastically "Cut Spending" during a Recession & Jobs Crisis?
THAT is pure Uncompassionate Conservatism,
and he will have to do THAT without MY help.

Do you know that over 80% of America supports NO cuts to Social Security & Medicare,
and Raising Taxes on the RICH?
Why wasn't THAT one of the options presented last night?

Obama & Boehner set up a beautiful False Dilemma.
You are being played.

Today, YOU will be fighting to CUT Social Security and Medicare.

Who will STAND and FIGHT for THIS American Majority?
You will know them by their WORKS,
not by their excuses.

We want to write our reps and tell them WE DO NOT want cuts to entitlements. We want those in this country that are doing very well to pay their share and leave us the fuck alone!

36. Done. For what good it'll do -- my congresscritter being a rep and a signatory to grover's pledge...
But I did manage to weave the Koch brothers, Grover Norquist, and the Teabaggers into the same sentence, as repulsive as that sounds. (Not in a disrespectful way to my congresscritter, of course -- I figure there'll be plenty of time for me to be disrespectful to him as time goes on...;-))
