Let's take the hostage taking analogy to it's real life counterpart |
|
Yes, I have been a few of those as a medic. And what you saw today was the hostage taker telling us HE WILL SHOOT THE HOSTAGE.
Now, in any of these situations you always assume your victims, your hostages, are dead and getting them out alive is gravy. That is kind of the cold reality. In this case we have had the hostage taker escalate the crisis and tell us... I am ready to shoot my hostages... I am ready to kill.
In the world of tactical police operations this is a very dangerous moment. It is usually one of the pints that triggers a tactical assault. The problem is the analogy breaks at this point. It is not like we have a SWAT team ready to be given the green light. Alas we are the hostages... warm fuzzy huh?
In reality what we have is a dysfunctional political system, so dysfunctional that is very close to just before a shooting civil war starts.
These are not happy thoughts, on the bright side... we can all kiss the empire good bye... and the US is about to learn just how non special or chosen or exceptional it is.

That was intriguing. I never knew that was part of training/strategy.
Thanks you for being on the EMT front lines.

2. It is one of those things that |
|
most people do not want or like to talk about, Actually Raid on Entebbe did touch on that for a fleeting moment.
