17 times under Regan?!
Jon Stewart just listed that we raised the debt ceiling 17 times under Reagan and only 4 times under Clinton. Seriously though 17 times?! How much money was he spending?

4. Two trillion...

National debt was about 1 trillion when he came in (calling deficits of 65 billion obscene), debt was 3 trillion when he left.

Funny how none of the RWers ever mention that "Reagan stimulus".

on edit: Note that adjusting for inflation, that would be in the ballpark of $5 trillion in 2011 dollars. $5T over 8 years is a heckuva stimulus package. Or would have been, if it has been spent better.
