Boehner to America: give me what I want or you're all screwed
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2011/07/25/998759/-Boehner-to-America:-give-me-what-I-want-or-youre-all-screwed?via=blog_1

Summing tonight's news: Obama gave a speech. Then Boehner gave a speech. Obama stressed compromise, Boehner stressed that "bipartisan" somehow meant the hardcore teabagger "Cut, Cap, Balance" plan that everyone knows has no chance of passing the Senate, but Boehner doesn't really care because none of this is really about debt or deficit at this point.

This time we didn't get vaguely-drunk-sounding Boehner, we got cranky petulant Boehner, and he delivered a speech that was basically a televised ransom note. Then a bunch of pundits said some stuff that I didn't hear because nobody gives a crap what they think anymore.

Right now, the U.S. stock market is staring in the mirror, holding a big container of pills in one hand, and wondering where it all went wrong.

(end snip)

Succinct and to the point diary.

Boehner's plan = the greatest increase in poverty and hardship produced by any law in modern U.S. history

1. If he is so stupid as to push the US into a formal default, he will usher in a REAL depression.
They call this the "Great Recession," and I believe it, but if the US defaults, causing the Dollar's value to plummet, we'll be looking at sky-high prices for imported goods, which we depend upon heavily (everything is made in China, basically). The Great Recession will, in essence, become the Second Great Depression.

3. Look at what the GOP has to gain by taking America down
Obama would most likely loose in 2012.

The remainder of the middle class would be smashed - the rich would have it all just like they wanted.

Funding for:
Obama care - gone.
EPA - gone.
Financial regulation - gone.
Social Security - gone.
Medicare - gone.

Taking the country to the bottom, is a dream for these Machiavellian thugs.
