Glen Beck likens Norway victims to Hitler youth but doen't mention US 9/12 project children's camp

On his radio show on Monday, commenter Glenn Beck likened the Norwegian summer camp attacked by a gunman on Friday as sounding similar to a Hitler Youth Camp. His remarks drew immediate condemnation from several groups.

On his show, Beck said, "There was a shooting at a political camp. Sounds a little like the Hitler Youth or whatever. I mean, who does a camp for kids that's all about politics? Disturbing."

Torbjørn Eriksen, the former press secretary to the Norwegian Prime Minster told England's The Daily Telegraph that this was a new low for Beck.

As to "who does a camp for kids that's all about politics?" Well, among others, followers of Beck's 9/12 project have done exactly that this summer with a program called "Vacation Liberty School." In these classes, children are taught about the supposed values of the country's founders. The school is organized and run by followers of the conservative tea party movement, although they have no official ties to Beck.

Then it also occurred to me that Glenn seems to be missing the fact that the anti-immigrant, anti-communist stance this homicidal nutjob takes is much closer to the extreme right-wing ideology of the Nazi party than any Labour Party activity could possibly be since one is the antithesis of the other.
