Yesterday reminded me of Carl Reiner's great speech in Ocean's Eleven:
To paraphrase...

"Let's just say for the sake of argument that the US defaults. And let's say that the foreign markets devalue the dollar and destabilize the Treasury and the currency. And let's say that because of this interest rates soar and access to money of any type and for any reason becomes nearly impossible for the average citizen to acquire. And let's say that any purchase including and beyond a jar of tomato sauce will require the consensus of the entire family, since dollars will be scarce or non-existent for many. And let's also say that we have a election coming where all the people involved in this are up for re-election and have to go home to their constituencies and plead their case for ruining the country's and quite possibly the entire world's economy. Do they really expect to win given all that?"

"Yes."

4. Of course, that would be the RE-make (I won't watch!) of the great original "Ocean's 11."

5. You're kidding, right?
It's a great film...the second one not so much...the third one is ruined by a couple of bad performances by the guest stars, so to speak.

The backstory of the original with Frank and Co. is fascinating...
