Why should we all be asked to sacrifice?
We already have been DAMN IT!

With the Bush tax cuts, war contracts, and corporate bailouts it has been the wealthy that have benefited immensely this past decade while we have seen our wages and benefit packages decimated if not leave this country altogether.

We have subsidized the wealthy in an extremely unbalanced way for a long time and now the President wants a "balanced" approach when it comes time to pay the piper?

I am livid.

and no taxes at all from what I have heard. So Obama saying everyone should sacrifice is just plain bullshit. When he said SS, Medicare and Medicaid were on the table he lost from that point on..

3. You're right,
and last night on MSNBC'S Lawrence O'Donnell's show, Marsha Blackburn was using it against him and the Dems.

Be prepared for that to be the Republican mantra going into 2012-"don't vote for the Dems, they want to destroy SS and Medicare", and Obama handed it to them on a silver platter.

6. Remember the HCR bill the Teabaggers hammered
relentlessly on Obama cutting Medicare by 1/2 a trillion dollars. Who the hell advises him or does he just make these decisions on his own?

7. He listens to the Repubicans and his corporate masters.
He sure doesn't listen to his base. If he did, we wouldn't be in this mess now because he'd have insisted on coupling the debt with the Bush Tax extension.

9. The rich already refused and won't, there are lots of cuts
Politicians have no more credibility, and the next generation will probably be even worse. Politicians should have their salaries cut in half (at least) for a few years till they prove they are useful. If not they should not be able to go back to politics

4. I've sacrificed three years of being without a job
which has also cost me three years of payments into Social Security, Medicare and a pension as well as personal savings. I haven't collected a dime of unemployment benefits because I was a per diem employee. I've sacrificed needed repairs on our house because we just get by on my husband's paychecks.

There are millions of unemployed people like me who are being screwed in similar ways.

All because of Wall Street and the Repigs.
Obviously all this sacrifice isn't enough for the bastards. They keep trying to cut needed government services and kill Social Security. It seems like they won't be satisfied until this country is one big tent city of homeless.

I can't think of any other logical reason.

8. You are not alone.
We are being systematically impoverished for the benefit of a few, and those in Washington are helping.

People need to wake up and realize what we are dealing with. This fight is not Democrats against Republicans anymore. This fight is THE PEOPLE against the moneyed interests who have infiltrated BOTH political parties. They are methodically building a political and legal structure that will use all of us as money spigots for a very long time, unless we stand up now and make them stop.

We need to take our party back. When we have DEMOCRATS supporting cuts in Medicare and Social Security, continued tax breaks for billionaires, and mushrooming wars, something is desperately wrong in our party.

Stand with the 20K strong who plan on assembling "round the Bull" on Wall Street, the day of Sept 16th 2011.

These radicals hope to affect the hard working millionaires and billionaires who are creating jobs in so many places around the globe that it is hard to list them all. Easier to list the one place that jobs are not being created, and that is right here in the USA.

These ingrates fail to realize that their Social Security monies are needed to help these millionaires and billionaires reach monetary goals, and if they do reach their goals, they will be making ample payoffs for those politicians running in 2012, politicians on both sides of the aisle.

Some folks believe that Kabuki Theater is cheap, but it ain't. your democratically elected officials need lots of moolah to stay in office and create new and ever more intriguing dramas.

You don't wanna help the radicals bring that all to a halt, do you?

www.occupywallstreet.org

And I should point out I may have mistyped the date - am not sure if the rally is for the 16th or the 17th of September.

Lots of information at the link

13. Thank you.
Yes, it's the 17th. That must have been why I couldn't find them.

Thank you again for this.
