Here's a Legislative Action Center Email On Passing Senator Reid's Plan
If you're having trouble calling or emailing using your Congress person's or Senator's site, this Legislative Action Center is up and running. This letter will go to your Senators, Member of Congress and the White House:

Text of Email:

Enough is enough. It’s time for Congress to step up and do the right thing—raise the debt ceiling and stop holding working class Americans hostage in your backdoor deals designed to force benefit cuts for most of us while passing tax cuts for a wealthy few. Americans know exactly what’s happening in Washington this week and we’ve said time after time that while we want fiscal responsibility returned to our nation, but we also know that you don’t have to rob from vital programs like Social Security and Medicare to do that. The way things are going in Washington these days, younger people will likely need these programs even more than we do. Balancing the budget on the backs of retirees and workers while offering even more tax cuts for the wealthy is not “shared sacrifice” and will never win the support of the American people.

Get on with it and pass Senator Reid’s Debt Reduction plan NOW.

1. Why are we fighting for Reids plan?
Yes, the cuts are BS, but I think it includes the "Super-Congress" committee and I don't think it's the best plan. Pass a clean bill with no cuts.

3. I'd rather pass an emergency debt ceiling lifting measure than
commit us to long term spending cuts and the straight jacket it will put us in further.

4. There is no support for those plans unfortunately, I don't like it but I think we can get rid of the
super Congress later.

5. Yes, concerted pressure is important
Don't forget to tell them what you want them to do. Raise the debt ceiling with no strings attached!
