I say let the states choose. |
|
Offer two choices. 1. We, the citizens of this State choose to pay a minimum 10% tax to the federal government and all we ask in return is the protection of the military from foreign invaders. We agree to be on our own for education, social welfare, health, infrastructure, environmental quality of life, law enforcement, immigration, regulation of business, Parks, and all other programs now being provided by the Federal Government.
2.We, the citizens in this State choose to pay our fair share to the federal government in order to "insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity,"
If that is what they want then let them have it.

1. Both choices require support from the people who are unemployed. |
|
Unemployment is far too high to garner that support.

Some states will willingly pollute the environment in order to get revenue...the infrastructure will collapse...education will be provided to those that can pay for it...and they will still blame those states in example #2 for all of their problems and shortcomings!
