It's now about $14.2 Trillion, meaning that we have borrowed $3.6 Trillion during the time that Obama has been president. Assuming we borrowed the $1.44 Trillion to fund Obama's new programs, why did we need an additional $2.15 Trillion and where did it go?

the year before, therefore the debt during Bush's tenure went from $5.4 trillion to $11.9 Trillion.
