After Signing Law Disenfranchising ID-less Voters, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker Closes 10 DMV Offices
Source: ThinkProgress

"Earlier this year, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker became one of the many GOP governors to sign a law disenfranchising voters who do not have a photo ID — a law that disproportionately affects elderly voters, young voters, students, minorities and low-income voters. Having disenfranchised tens of thousands of Wisconsin voters, Walker is now making it harder for many of these voters to obtain the ID they need to regain their right to participate in the next election:

Gov. Scott Walker’s administration is working on finalizing a plan to close as many as 10 offices where people can obtain driver’s licenses in order to expand hours elsewhere and come into compliance with new requirements that voters show photo IDs at the polls."

Leaves little to the imagination...Walker and the Republicans are clearly trying to prevent people from voting.

1. And no one seems to mind.
The media just passes it by as if it did not matter and was normal.

2. yep amazing
well after all the media ignored Wisconsin all winter when 100k folks a week were in the streets.. and when the county clerk allowed Prosser to win.. its like one blow after another.. it says a lot about the people of that state, that they keep on with the fight.. if only we in NM were as valiant

3. The answer to this is not to throw our hands up & complain, but to act.
There is nothing we can do to change this here in Wisconsin right now. Even if we win the recall elections (I voted yesterday at my city clerk's office) we cannot undo this anytime soon.

What Democrats can do is to identify these people and do whatever we can do to help them to get IDs, to get to the DMV offices. That's proactive and we are talking about a finite number of people.

When the day comes that we are able to overturn Walker's actions, then we do that but we should do what we can do now and there are months before there is any recall election against Walker to make this happen.

Scott Walker, Christie, John Kasich, pRick Scott..... they are getting their orders from the Koch Bros.

The really scary question is: Who are the Koch Bros working for and why do they want to destroy America?

9. this is happening, at least in This state
because, so many of the of younger people from the Reagan era on up, decided it was cool to be a conservative (Hip to be square!), or at least a 'centrist,'as they like to call themselves now.

they've become enablers of the Koch/ALEC agendas by spiting the 'hippy' liberals with their votes.

we have to deal with fascism now, because the Yuppies sold out, and their kids behind them.
