operated from every other business in America."

The number one misunderstanding of GOP is that business and govt are synonymous in how they should be run.

They can't seem to comprehend that the Govt. is not a business and doesn't need to, nor will it benefit from, being run like a business.

What's the saying? "If the only tool you have is a hammer then everything looks like a nail." Republican's lack of knowledge/history in the non-business world keeps them reaching for the hammer to the country's detriment.

1. So true

And they've convinced people of this view. You always hear people say shit like, "(presidential candidate) has no business experience."

How about all the Herman Cain lovers who tout his running a pizza joint as being enough reason they'd vote for him over any of the others or Obama.

It's fucking non-sense. This obsession with profit and running gov't like a business will destroy us; already has.

2. He's never met a payroll, what does he know?
I hear that all the time.

Running a business requires a specific set of skills. Managing an economy takes a completely different skill set. Picking government leaders based on their business success makes almost as much sense as picking them based on their guitar-playing abilities.

to believe that government runs or should run like a business.

5. The government is NOT a business!
Its purpose, goals and aim are very different from those of businesses. It's ridiculous to say that government should be run like a business, as ridiculous as it would be to say that government should be run like a family. Completely different social structures.
