Ching Chong Ling Long food delivery service run by students is accused of racism
An assemblyman is accusing a food delivery service of denigrating Asians by using the name Ching Chong Ling Long Gourmet Takeout.

A group of UCLA students in partnership with a Chinese restaurant in Westwood, California, thought the name was the perfect tongue-in-cheek swipe at a viral Youtube video.

But Monterey Park Assemblyman Mike Eng this week took issue, saying that the business name is 'jingoistic.'

...

He urged UCLA Chancellor Gene Block to address the situation in a letter on Tuesday.

UCLA responded the following day. Campus spokesman Phil Hampton said the school cannot control what language students choose to market their business with.

2. this is stupid
This guy needs a life. We can name a business anything we want, if you do not like it, or wish to protest it. Go right on ahead, otherwise leave it alone. We are all americans here if they can't use that name, neither should anybody including asians or any other nationality.

3. That was the phrase used by that racist chick that made that video
So if you remember the video, you will get it.

Of course most people don't remember the video, or don't understand satire, so there will of course be outrage.

Why am I not surprised?

6. jingoistic?
Jingoism is defined in the Oxford English Dictionary as extreme patriotism in the form of aggressive foreign policy.<1> In practice, it is a country's advocation of the use of threats or actual force against other countries in order to safeguard what it perceives as its national interests. Colloquially, it refers to excessive bias in judging one's own country as superior to others – an extreme type of nationalism.
