God I hate Republicans
I hope the teabaggers and their voters can sleep at night once we default. These "people" are heartless and gutless.

6. Sing it
but it doesn't fix the problems. The problem is that we spend massively more than we take in, and we borrow the rest. If you have a house payment of 2000 a month but only bring home 1500 a month, eventually something has to give. The problem I see is there isn't a democratic plan that negotiations start from. We are ALWAYS negotiating from a Republican plan as the starting point. Even when we had the house, the Senate, and the Presidency. I am starting to think we have just one party, and the rest of all this shit is a bilking mechanism for funding campaigns, power, and self gratification.

7. I fully understand how you feel Maryellen.
Maybe you haven't seen this before, it's pretty old (from before the 2004 election) but it's always been one of my favorites when I need a pick-me-up. :)

Keep the proles hating one another and the oligarchs can rob us blind.

11. Those oligarchs are held in place not just by money, but often...
...by votes. The fact that the willfully blind are likewise proles is not relevant vis-a-vis the fact that they empower the oligarchs in the first place.

Know you enemy, and know those he owns.

In some Vampire lore, a Renfield is a bound servant to a vampire who does his tasks during the day while the vampire cannot. That he is often bound against his will is irrelevant -- he still empowers the vampire.

12. I do
Unfortunately, the last few years I've come to realize, with a few exceptions, there is no national politician left to trust on either side of the aisle or in the White House and Supreme Court for that matter.

14. This country has been under siege for sometime and I think/hope more and
more Americans are waking up and ceasing to give explicit blinded trust to their party of choice.

15. I hate the 21st century as well, so far
Edited on Tue Jul-26-11 03:39 PM by Urban Prairie
The 80s too, at least with who the POTUSes were, being Reagan and GHWB. Ironically the city I grew up in and the supposedly "career" job that I had held were both flushed down the toilet, soon after Reagan began to serve his first term. I have struggled to survive EVERY TIME one of those bastards was in the Oval Office, and with each succeeding Rethug POTUS, it has taken more and more time for me to recover from their evil administrations. Looks like President Obama's ENTIRE first term is not gonna suffice to right the foundering ship that is the US economy, as the Shrub along with his puppet-master Cheney and the neocons and his SCOTUS picks has managed to leave their disasterous economic shadow lingering far behind them, and perhaps Obama being re-elected and serving another term will NOT be nearly enough to help the US recover economically to anything resembling the more "prosperous" pre-Bush era 90s, when the "blue dog" Democrat Bill Clinton was in office.

My fear is not that Obama will not be re-elected, even though that seems to be an ever-increasing possibility, given the debt-ceiling impasse, and the looming potential of cuts to SS, Medicare and Medicaid in DC. It is b/c I truly doubt that we will have a Democrat elected again as POTUS for three or more consecutive terms, which has never happened in my lifetime. So even if we stave off seeing the potentially ultimate destruction of what remains of the dwindling middle class for another four years, I truly doubt that the Rethugs will fail to find a way by hook or more likely CROOK, to install the Rethug POTUS of their choice in November of '16, and I will be that much closer to being "elderly", more frail and much more vulnerable to his or her evil whims, that is IF I manage to live that long, which I might not, and perhaps would be better off being dead by then, b/c those US citizens who are now or soon will be in my situation, but still living (disabled, elderly, unemployed, dependent) may very well soon afterwards, truly envy the dead.

16. Their voters are clueless - it really isn't their fault
It is the people behind the republican machine who are at fault. Those people are seriously bad people and worthy of your hatred.
