I still hate Republicans
Edited on Tue Jul-26-11 03:01 PM by MrScorpio
Damn, it's been SEVEN years since I wrote this?

I hate Republicans. It's a fact and a top ten list!!!

Oh yes, I do. I truly, truly do. I hate them all. I've hated them for years and years and years. And with their convention coming next week, this has given me the extra incentive to issue a blanket condemnation of them.

I hate them more than I like Democrats. I even hate them more than I hate the people who come to this country to attack us, because the Republicans are so close to home. Now I know, in this date and age, we here on DU sometimes disdain this attitude of hatred toward those Republican fuckers, but I have two words to say to that, "Bite me". Those shitheads deserve every iota of animosity than I can muster.

Although I've hated them for years, I didn't always wish that all of the Republican party could roast slowly in Hell. That didn't come into play until what I saw what Ronald Reagan did to Michigan. We used to have a Republican governor named William Milliken. Milliken was, get this, a left wing Republican. He was buddy-buddy with the mayor of Detroit, Coleman Young and always, always, always gave Detroit its props. Long time Dems in Detroit would routinely split their ticket in the voting booth, because they knew that Milliken was a decent and honorable man who believed in good government over partisan party mongering and would probably do a better job than any Dem.

Well when Reagan took over, he cleaned house. He was the original, you're-either-wit-us-or-agin-us president. No more left leaning Repubs, everybody had to jump on Ronnie's bandwagon or hit the road. Milliken was banished to Traverse City where he from time to time issues a stark condemnation of the tactics and motives of Republican party in Michigan and Bush in general.

I wish he'd become an independent, because he has no place in that party.

Now when you're growing up Black, from a strong union home and you get your political education at a very young age because of Nixon and Watergate, you figure out really early on that Republicans can be scumbags. After what Reagan did to Michigan, the country and the rest of the world the hate came easy.

After Reagan, came Pappy Bush. Oh yeah, I really hated that lying, warmongering sumbitch. Of course, today we have the Shrub. But these are the leaders, for them that hate came easy, but largely unfocused.

With today's advent of the Internet, schlock radio, Fox-Fucker Unnews and periodic paroxysms of utter stupidity that blare through C-Span's call in lines, I was able to focus my rage against "the base". The support structure that keeps inflicting Republican malfeasance on the rest of us.

But there's more to hate the Republicans than what I mentioned above. I've come up with a top-ten laundry list of why these rat-fuckers should be sucking sea water and wallowing in whale shit at the bottom of the ocean. There are no overriding priorities on this list. They are all equally bad:

- I hate Republicans because of what they're doing to New York. I love New York and I truly feel that New Yorkers are the best people there are. And those Republicans are going to take their city and exploit it as a backdrop and the deaths of all the 9-11 victims in a truly cynical effort to resteal the White House. Bush may have given them the $20bn he promised them in that publicity stunt when he put an arm around a fire fighter and showed his "compassion". But the city and state are suffering because they couldn't afford keep those guys on the payroll because Bush and his Repub unindicted co-conspirators in Congress couldn't come up with any follow on cash. But you best believe that some actors portraying fire fighters and police officers got paid to end up in a campaign BC04 advert.

- I hate Republicans because they support this and any warmongering, chickenhawk administration that sends people in uniform, like myself, to inflict wars of aggression and imperialism on the rest of the world. My kid brother is in Iraq right now. If ANYTHING happens to him, you better believe that every single war-supporting, Republican motherfucker that I run into is going to hear it from me. They'll be lucky if they don't get a fist upside their numb skulls.

- I hate Republicans because they support the military-industrial complex that provides the materiel for these wars and diverts precious capital and resources from the rest economy. We can't afford universal health and unemployment insurance, subsidized higher education and recovery for the country's crumbling infrastructure because of this wasteful and immoral subversion. This vast and overly redundant arsenal provided a handy incentive for Bush and his sycophants to engage in a war of choice that, in no way, enhanced our security, protected our allies or met a credible threat to our country.

- I hate Republicans because they readily use the tactic of employing stomach churning jingoism that gives these immoral foreign misadventures their popular drive and moral justification. This perverts the true nature of patriotism that, otherwise would induce young American men and women to wear our nation's military uniform and take an oath to protect and defend it and our nation's Constitution against all enemies, both foreign and domestic. Instead we wear it to maximize Halliburton's profit margin.

- I hate Republicans because they're willing to go to no end to lie, distort fact, hide the truth, embezzle, kill, subvert the law, commit any underhanded act in order to hold on to power. These people do not play by the rules. Never have and never will.

- I hate Republicans because they hate the Republic. They're willing to turn this country into a plutocratic theocracy, or even an outright dictatorship, that employs every Orwellian trick in the book in order to maintain their hold on power.

- I hate Republicans because they reject the egalitarian legacy of the United States. They're willing to engage in a campaign of social Darwinism, (Ironic, in that most of them reject Darwin) to keep the country embroiled in various racial, gender, class and religious struggles as a mechanism to divide the general population. For instance, they use loaded code words that relegate Americans of non-white, anglo-saxon heritage into the category of demi-American and objects of derision and fear. I take this fact personally.

- I hate Republicans because they're always willing to poison or destroy our air, land and sea to make a filthy buck.

- I hate Republicans because they think that they have some moral or social superiority that entitles them to have dominance over the rest of us.

- I hate Republicans because all of them are hypocrites of the worse order. Hate abortion, but love wars of aggression and the death penalty. Love freedom of religion, but hate all religions other than their own. The biggest of those hypocrites are the ones who know better. The ones who know that the party is run by the biggest gaggle of miscreants that was ever shat out by humanity. They are willing to give in to every recidivist policy that represents utter contempt for anything that's good for the country, because they know that those are the very tactics that keep them in power.

Now I could come up with more reasons why I hate Republicans, oh yeah, lot's more. But I won't, because I don't want my blood pressure to go through the roof. So I'll end it with this: Fuck all of you Republicans. Fuck your mommas and your daddies and all the horses you rode in on. I salute you with an extended middle finger that exemplifies my utter contempt for you and everything you stand for. I hope you all burn in your much deserved special circle in Hell for everything you done to this great country.

I can't wait until we kick your sorry asses in November.

1. Preaching to the choir with me
My Republican husband would rather cut off his nose to spite his face than go against "Party", even when that Party includes "batshit crazy" Teabaggers, his words.

7. Interesting
Someone told me that the teabaggers were not a majority of Republicans. I find lots of Republicans scoffing at teabaggers but, when it comes down to it, I can't tell the difference between them and teabaggers except that they refuse to identify themselves as such.

How do you explain your husband?

11. Mostly Dems locally, even in the state reps

However, my US congresscritter is a Republican. There's little that we can do to get rid of her, due to the way the district is drawn. Where I live is the southern most tip and since it's the closest to Detroit, the most Democratic. Geographically, most of her district is north of us, and it's made up of wingers.

And that's mostly because I have no idea what she's up to. She's very good at staying out of the spotlight. Useless as a third nipple, I think.

Anyway, I've only seen her on TV once and that was on a spot on CSPAN about some mundane issue that I can't remember.

I have a feeling that she's going along with the teabaggers to get along.

18. That pig is a teabagger!!!!
She voted with them and was standing beside ugly ass Thaddeus McCotter screaming during the Health care debate. Remember her telling us it was a job killing bill. She was also with Michell batshit Bachmann who wants to investigate Congress to see if any of the Congress is anti-American. She will be busy in the Tea Party cause all of them are anti-American if you asked me. Because they serve no good in their beliefs. especially since their belief came from Crossroads, Americans for Prosperity, freedomworks,Citizens United, The Citizens for Patients Rights, The Heritage Foundation, and all the other right-wing funded coalitions. When Paul Ryan's budget plan went south and Gov. Scott Walker started catching some heat she sunk her ass into the woodwork. I haven't even seen her ass holding hands with tricky rick. She is a back stabber and deserves watching.

8. They represent and are the failure of this country, literally anything the
republicans touch is totally F'ed up. And culturally they are totally F'en up. And in the smarts department they are a bunch of laggards. And socially they are completely lame and inept. I've never seen a republican that did not look awkward, out of it, ill at ease, fuming at something and now often stupid looking.
