"Liberals Balk at Medicare, SS Cuts" - CNN
WTF?

AMERICANS are against touching Medicare and SS; those programs belong to all of us and we are entitled to them.

See how they're trying to frame this?

:grr:

1. I'll gladly take the credit for all the "balking"
Doesn't that imply that the cons are ok with cuts?

5. No. It implies that "liberals' (media's a dirty word akin to radicals)
don't want the cuts. More reasonable people would be ok with them. THAT was the implication.

2. I don't think it's such a bad thing to frame it that way.
If the general public starts to understand that it's the liberals who are trying to protect SS and Medicare, that's good for us. Tie the protection of these programs to Democrats/liberals and destruction of them to Republicans. Excellent.

6. If only the general public would see it that way.
I hope you're right, and my initial take on what I saw, and heard, is wrong.

7. Can you give me an example?
Because Jack Cafferty is saying Obama is more worried about re-election than compromising.

17. Better late than never, I guess - I'll take it!
Maybe we'll finally stop hearing them utter their false equivalencies ("Both sides..."etc.)

4. The mainstream media is entirely a corporate propaganda apparatus
and cannot be counted on to do anything besides work for their masters and distract from important issues.

Lying liars that lie. They are worse than useless.

8. "Americans want to be able to eat, sleep indoors, and be healthy."
That's the reality. Until they understand that, they're just right wing toys.

12. This Liberal is MORE than "balking".

and I'm standing firm.
