What I'll never understand about divided government
The people voted en masse for Obama in 2008 - for four years and yes they also voted for a Democratic house and Senate. Democrats retained the Senate in 2010 so on what basis do ReTHUGS scream that they were voted into office in 2010 - they won one chamber of the Legislative Branch.

Democratics control the Executive Branch and the Senate - who the fugg are these RETHUGS to be acting as if they control three branches of government?

1. It works for them.
It's that simple.

If the Democrats fought back, things would be different.

3. Ever watch a family where the screaming spoiled brat controls everyone?
That is how I see the Tea Party. They are the ones who are willing to scream for no reason, make up lies, and do absolutely anything to get their way. I've seen three year olds with more self control and a better sense of what is realistic than this crowd of baby politicians.

5. In our family and clan it is well known
Brats do not embarrass us in public or private - scream all you want, you will not get your own way. Jump, scream, roll over, throw tantrum, rinse repeat - We don't care who looks. Hence we have no brats - they learn fast.

11. That's how it was in my family
But we knew better than to throw a fit - in public or in private. My parents did not believe in corporal punishment but all it took was that *look* from Dad for us to quake in our flip flops! I remember watching my little sister try a temper tantrum one time at the store when she was about two years old. Mom simply told her "You will NOT do this here" in a very emphatic, commanding voice and little sister shut up. Even at that age she knew that her screaming was not going to do any good.

6. They don't believe in democracy
They never did - it was all pretense when the Soviet Union existed - not they can show their true colors.

9. Voters put them in power
And they are using all the power they have to be complete shitheels.

This is like a milder version of what happened to any country in the US sphere of influence during the cold war, whose elected politicians dared to go too far left. The business class revolted, stopping even reasonable demands from being met, and plunged the country into economic ruin. They can weather any economic storm, especially if they expect a big payoff in the end. Thankfully we probably don't have to fear the bloodshed and strongmen autocrats that followed in those cases.

10. I am so sick of hearing pundits talk about how Americans
wants or Americans voted for divided government. The average voter - at least the "independents" (or last minute voters) don't see much farther than the individual candidate in their own district. And unless they split a ticket there is really no sense in saying that they voted for divided government.
