MoveOn.org rally held in Punta Gorda

Protesters at a MoveOn.org rally carried signs that read "hands off my Social Security." The rally, held outside Republican U.S. Representative Tom Rooney's office in Punta Gorda. It was just one of hundreds across the nation Tuesday.

The protesters say it's embarrassing how Congressional leaders and the president are carrying on.

"If there's a crisis in the country, everybody should be called upon to do their part to try to resolve it," said Ted Zawistowski, a member of MoveOn.org.

Some of them even delivered hand-written letters to their Congressmen - urging them to reach a debt deal.
