1. 'Not renew', but that's a distinction without a difference.
The three issues -- subsidies for under-served rural airports, landing slots at DCA/Washington National, and collective bargaining for FAA employees -- are unrelated to the present crisis.

Obama should shut down the airlines.

After all, the FAA communicates with the Homeland Security about threats to our nation. If they are shut down, we may as well shut down Homeland Security. That would save us about $75 billion per year. That would be 3/4's of a trillion dollars over a ten year period. This is a threat to our national security.

Too bad if the good Senators can't find a flight back to their respective states. Let them drive.

Or they could find the money to fund it?
