PHOTO of the DAY (JAPAN)

Children in the tsunami-hit city of Kamaishi, Iwate Prefecture, draw pictures in reply to letters of encouragement they received from children in Iceland following the March 11 Great East Japan Earthquake and tsunami. After receiving letters of encouragement from children in Iceland, children at a nursery in Kamaishi wrote letters of thanks and drew pictures in reply, telling the children in Iceland not to worry. The activity was part of an effort by the Japan Committee for UNICEF to reply to messages received from 30 countries. (Mainichi)

Children throw their hands in the air at a summer camp event in Nishigo, Fukushima Prefecture. The camp events, sponsored by the government and being held through August, are designed to let children whose outdoor activities are restricted by radiation concerns play and get exercise in areas where radiation levels are low. Event organizers received over 20,000 applications for the around 5,000 participation slots. (Mainichi)

3. You are welcome.
Just a comment, one of the photos shows an antique store. I bet it would be fascinating to spend some time roaming the store. I already see a Katana standing in the main window. That in and of itself, would draw me in!
