Pa Union question....
Edited on Tue Jul-26-11 10:45 PM by DLine
This guy I was talking with on another site has a father that is currently unemployed because of this lockout which they of course blame the union for.

Anyway, his dad is a non-union employee of this company. The union rejected the companies contract offer so the company locked the workers out. This apparently included non-union workers who also had their benefits canceled. Is it normal in a lock out situation for the non-union workers to also be locked out?

1. What is normal is for the opposition to put as much pressure on as they can.

And if that includes screwing union AND non-union people, so be it. They would lock your grandmother out if they thought it would add pressure.

The problem comes in when the workers decide not to stand together, and some take the side of "management".

Doesn't sound like you fell for it. The bad guy is the greedy aggressor, the so-called owner, with their myopic short-term-profits outlook. Rarely are the union and other workers anything more than victims. (There are abuses, but not as often as reported).
