Damn I knew I was going slip one day |
|
I just called Senator Schumer's office and got a person rather than a machine.
I said I wanted to thank him for standing firm against, and I slipped totally not on purpose, and said "Boner", then I apologized and said it correctly.
The lady who took the call was very nice and didn't act upset that I said it.
Anyway I said no cuts to Medicare and SS and to keep standing firm.
I'm so embarassed. I was trying to sound all reasonable and professional. I mean it is one thing to call him that here but another to call him that to a Senator's office. Really did not mean to do it.

2. I once did the same thing when I called Sen. Specter's office |
|
Edited on Wed Jul-27-11 08:45 AM by Orrex
I said "Is there anything that Senator Specter can do to make Sen. Ass-Froth less crazy?"
I swear it was totally an accident!

14. Hand to God, I heard a talking head in MSM use "teabagger" in a news report once. |
|
I don't know if it was a slip from a lefty or if the reporter was just some know-nothing airhead who thought "teabagger" was a cute petname for the group, but she said it. I kept my ear to the ground for a week expecting to hear some kind of outcry, but apparently the baggers are just too stupid to know when they're being insulted.

Thats when I started calling him Boner.

11. I'm so much of a stickler for correct prounuciation |
|
that I 'pronounce' it correctly in my mind whenever I see his name in print, and since his name seldom comes up in actual conversation, there's little likelihood that I would make the 'boner' mistake. A 'boner' by any other name is just as 'prick-y,' however, and he's still every inch an orange stack of shit.

You did good. The "slip" was, at worst, minor and inconsequential; at most, accurate.

15. I would not be so 'professional' myself. What 'Boner' is doing |
|
is unprofessional and dangerous to the country. It's time to tell it like it is and stop pretending there is some kind of compromise when it comes to protecting the people of this country. Sometimes when you're just nice it's not remembered. If our message is emphatic with the tone that we will NOT take this crap any longer I think the message will have teeth.

19. Chalk that pronunciation up to a person who probably had a pretty rough time of it in junior high. |
|
Now, of course, being Squeeker of the House, I'm sure he feels "entitled" to be respected for his legendary grasp of governmental principles.
Wrong again, Boner.
