These CBO people must be made of iron.
I know very little about this group but they must be under tremendous pressure not only because their analyses often go against the powers-that-be but also because they seem to be under inhuman time pressures. Can anyone fill me in on who these folks are?

1. Some of them went to Graduate Public Policy schools
and you are trained on a way of thinking about politics and pressure. You also maintain a peer group that reinforces the need for non-partisan analysis to maintain a functioning government.

3. I hear ya!
Kinda like the poor Clerk of the Court who has to read the full text of bills when the parties get in a pissing match.

The CBO has to constantly update their spreadsheets/financial models while I'm sure holier than thou Congress staffers complain why is it taking so long.

4. Most of them come from academia.

The CBO has a history of nonpartisanship that may partially be the result of a constantly shifting majority in Congress.

I think most sane Senators and Reps really want accurate, unbiased figures out of the CBO. They can always spin the results later, as needed.

5. And the CBO came out and said the Obama's Health Care Plan would be cost effective. How long
until the GOP base starts attacking the CBO for it science?
