Cargo train with hazardous material derails in Antelope Valley
Cargo train with hazardous material derails in Antelope Valley

About half of a 62-car cargo train derailed Wednesday in the Antelope Valley and at least 14 of the those cars are carrying hazardous material, creating a potential dangerous situation, officials said. The derailment occurred about 1:25 p.m. near Avenue T in Littlerock, the Los Angeles County Fire Department said.
The lengthy cargo train was carrying two people.

County fire officials, with the assistance of the California Highway Patrol, were deploying to keep people away from any potential danger.

A county fire helicopter flying over the scene did not report any other vehicles involved in the derailment.

2. News flash brother.
EVERY cargo train has at least 2 or 3 hazmat cars. Some a LOT more than that. I should know, I work for the railroad.

5. Cargo train?
WTF is a cargo train?

Aside from passenger trains, they all carry "cargo" of some sort.

I wonder if it's anything like a freight train. Nah, couldn't be.

4. A train track, which is used heavily daily goes by our home
and I worry about what's on all those train cars......lots of coal going one way, and empty coal cars coming back, but then there are lots of other type cars I'm not familiar with and it is kinda scary..... needless to say, we're thinking of moving.
