Right Wing Hatred of the First Lady

Every time I read an article linked off of Drudge the comments sections are full of incredible hateful racist filth. Sometimes it makes me feel so depresed knowing there are those among America's citizens who can feel such visceral hatred about black people. Because even when the right wing conservatives had targeted Bill and Hillary Clinton the level of filthy hatred was never like this. I hope the guys who sent this into the internet don't have children.

The publication isn't a right wing site. What seems to have happened is an article about Michelle Obama and Jill Biden was picked up by Drudge Report.

Excerpted comments:

How much did they know about the attack before it happened?

JILL BIDEN: “I didn’t have a clue. Joe left early and was gone all day. Didn’t come home for a meal—nothing. So I knew something was happening, but I thought it was about Libya. I was grading papers and watching TV.”

MICHELLE OBAMA: “I knew something was happening, but when it gets down to that level of secrecy, there’s just a small number of people who know anything.”

She adds, “I was actually out to dinner with girlfriends, and I didn’t know until I walked in the door. It was later in the evening, and Barack had his suit on, because he was going to the press conference. And I said, ‘What’s going on?’”

Her reaction? “I was like ‘Wow.’ Then I wanted to know the details: ‘How did it happen? Then what? And then what happened?’ I was probably like every media person.”

On explaining the mission to her children:

MICHELLE OBAMA: “I think kids instinctively feel that ambivalence—is this good or is this bad? And then you have to explain in a way that says it’s not good, but it’s good. The older kids, I think, get it. It’s a convoluted set of concepts. But I think they understand, when it’s placed in context.”

On a future in politics:

MICHELLE OBAMA: “The answer is N-O. Period, dot.” She adds, “I think one reason Jill and I are comfortable and happy is that we’re doing what speaks to us. And what I’ve learned as a woman growing up, getting older, is you’ve got to know who you are. And a politician—it’s never been who I was or wanted to be.”

JILL BIDEN: “No. We’re emphatic.” She adds, “There was never a desire. I never wanted to run.”

2. It's getting worse.

Some people on DU *do not know how* 'conservatives' think. I've read many topics sayin g we should 'compromise' with republicans. I even listened to Limbaugh today.

Lately I've been very disturbed that people talk about compromising with republicans.

BTW please note the BOARD which is besieged by right wingers is NOT a conservative board but a seniors website. They are trying to clean up the comments!

Hey, they deleted a comment about spitting on these folks in the white house. Is that a crime? Just to to say you want to spit on these people? I spit on Obama now! Everyday I spit on this family. Right now I am spitting on them. All of them– Him, his children, and his wife.

I mean, will the Obama’s ever survive living in America when they are out of office? They might have to move to Africa or Harlem, because those are the only two places that probably won’t want their heads on sticks.

Very unflattering pictures of Obama and a sick obsession with Michelle Obama. As if trying to get kids to eat healthy is evil.

I go to articles linked to off Huff post. And if Drudge had linked to them they get RUINED. Maybe I shouldn't have posted this but I am fed up with the right wing. I am fed up with people who believe 'conservatives' are good people who have differences with us. Under their facades is a heck of a lot of hatred for women and blacks! I'd posted on a couple of 'conservative' boards earlier this year. the hatred for women and minorities is awful.

Why can't we talk about it? I believe we should, if only to get it out of our systems. It stresses me when I read an article about Michelle obama and see it messed up because of hateful comments. And it happens on MAINSTREAM sites.

Again, this is happening. It hurts. *grrr* Most of the time i ignore it.

Drudge reader's comments screw up all sorts of sites. Their hatred infects websites all over the place. If people get off of DU and look at any website's comments you'll see what I meant.
