So will the RW apologize to Janet Napolitano this time for attacking her? |
|
Remember, the DHS was attacked for releasing a report entitled "Rightwing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment" in April of 2009, shortly before a spate of right-wing political shooting. The assassination of Dr. Tiller, the shooting at the US Holocaust Museum, and the ambush murder of 3 Pittsburgh police officers comes to mind.
And now we have yet another person obsessed with the gold standard and government mind-control plans (fluoride in water? Chemtrails?) opening up on a crowd of politically-orientated people for political reasons. Six killed, including a federal judge and a 9-year-old girl.
So, when exactly will the RW admit that the report (started and compiled under the Bush Administration, remember) was right?
I got a fiver on "never".

2. I won't take that bet. |
|
Expecting some RWer to apologize? That's not gonna happen.
I'd be shocked if the "liberal" media even mentions it.

13. And here are some Rethug reactions to it at the time.... |
|
At the time, conservatives used the report to launch attacks on President Obama and DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano. Michael Steele, for example, said the DHS was trying to "segment out Americans who dissent from this administration." A few of the other criticisms included:
Rep. Bachmann: "To me, it looks like the extremists are those running the DHS."
Rep. Burgess: "I don't know that the secretary understands the depth of the disruption that she's caused...I think the appropriate thing to do is for her to step down and let's move on."
Rep. Boehner: "The report that came out of DHS was offensive, and unfortunately, Secretary Napolitano still has a lot of explaining to do."
Rep. Peter King: " has never put out a report talking about look out for mosques. Look out for Islamic terrorists in our country. Look out for the fact that very few Muslims come forward to cooperate with the police. If they sent out a report saying that, there would be hell to pay."
Sen. Ensign: "...this report raised some serious red flags about the mission of the Department of Homeland Security."
Sen. Inhofe: "I believe this report to be very offensive to many Americans."
Newt Gingrich: "The person who drafted the outrageous homeland security memo smearing veterans and conservatives should be fired."
Source: NBC 4
Of course I'm sure they will all say they were misquoted when called on these quotes today.
They own this culture of hatred for your fellow countryman.
Hands off my Social Security! Hands off Latin America!

9. I keep seeing the Palin Apologists all over the web |
|
Heck the whole Right-Wing are a bunch of apologists. It does not happen on both sides. Boy am I sick of that. Someone posted BoyBlue's blog on Daily Kos where he said "she's dead to me". That is not the same thing. Sarah Palin put a TARGET on Ms. Giffords. That was a direct threat that was now accomplished. Mrs. Palin should be ashamed of herself and leave public life for good.
