MSNBC Responds to Rachel Maddow Lawsuit: 'This suit is baseless and we stand by our reporting'
MSNBC and one of its primetime hosts, Rachel Maddow, are named as defendants in a $50 million lawsuit alleging that comments made by Maddow on her program were defamatory.

Rocker-turned minister Bradlee Dean and his ministry are the plaintiffs, essentially claiming that Maddow paraphrased Dean in such a way as to turn a benign statement he made into a defamatory one.

You can read the lawsuit in question, as well as allegedly defamatory comments, here.

MSNBC responded with a strong statement, saying “This suit is baseless and we stand by our reporting.”

The suit is the second suit filed by a prominent conservative against a mainstream media outlet in the last few months. In June, Where’s the Birth Certificate? author Jerome Corsi sued Esquire magazine for $120 million for running a satirical item on his book.

1. Are these those "nuisance lawsuits" the wing nuts are also bitching
about? Do they have to hire "those damn trial lawyers" to file and pursue.

It's hard to describe what a cancer Republicans are on this country.

2. "paraphrased Dean in such a way as to turn a benign statement he made into a defamatory one"
Why are the Republicans and FAUX news not being sued everyday?
