Did anyone see Lawrence O'Donnell utterly and completely wipe the floor with Joe this morning?

I don't think I've ever seen anything like it. Morning after morning, Joe and his Republican minions lie and lie and lie about what is going on. Today, they invited Lawrence on, and in quick succession he destroyed the entire narrative Joe and Co had been peddling. He got everyone else nodding with basically everything he had to say. Joe tried to fight back with more lies, and Lawrence actually accused Joe of lying multiple times (using the word "lie"), all with a smile on his face. Joe was red faced and completely flummoxed.

10. I am sorry to have had to miss it, but that's the price I pay for having made

the decision to never watch this show again. I know in my heart that Mika is a woman of some substance, but I swear to God even 15 seconds of seeing her sit there in the easter egg color outfits and the sempering eyes and the hostess announcement duties on her lips and the UUhs and AAhs falling out in between makes me throw up my breakfast.

I watched your show this morning, and just like one of your
associates, I found the debate disheartening because it
exposed what--by my lights--is destroying this nation.

First, thank you for having the debate. We need more debates
when honest, knowledgeable people won't back down.

You do some really good things.   The other day, I heard a 
statement of the danger of the widening gap between rich and
poor in the U.S. by Zbigniew Brzezinski.  It was brilliant. 
Even Pat Buchanan shut up because Buchanan knew he was out of

But what made me heartsick is that you still think of yourself
as a "small government" person in spite of all the
evidence that the United States cannot be the world's
superpower and at the same time think in terms of "small
government."

The two concepts are incompatible.

This is not 1781. Small government didn't work even then. The
Articles of Confederation--small government--was a total
failure.

I wonder what you "small government" advocates
recommend doing when disaster strikes in Joplin or Tuscaloosa
or New Orleans?  I wonder what you "small
government" advocates would recommend the government do
if, God forbid, a tsunami hit Florida and the Gulf Coast.

I also wonder what you "small government" advocates
recommend that we do for the millions of veterans from Iraq
and Afghanistan who will need expensive medical care.

(We really know, don't we? Michelle Bachmann—the Tea Party
candidate--is proposing cutting veterans benefits.)

Shall we go back to the 1800s when the nation did virtually
nothing for veterans? That's small government.

Joe, this morning you couldn't even bring yourself to use the
words "tax increase." All you could verbalize was
eliminating loopholes.

Can you not see what the anti-tax movement is doing to
America?

The judicial system is collapsing, teachers and fire fighters
and police officers are being laid off by the tens of
thousands, libraries are being closed, and the infrastructure
is collapsing. All in the name of "starving the
beast." And you “small government” advocates want even
deeper tax cuts.

You call it “brave” to cut benefits to the elderly. It is not
brave. It is craven. You can judge a society by how it treats
its old people.

You let Grover Norquist (author of the infamous Pledge) go
away looking like a reasonable man instead of the individual
who perhaps as much as Rush is destroying this country.

You strike me as intellectually honest, but you came across
this morning as someone who is blind to the truth.

If someone like you who is highly intelligent and deeply
informed remains stuck in his prejudices, what can we expect
of dumb asses who know nothing and get their marching orders
from Rush and Beck and Fox News?

You did have one knowledgeable, articulate truth-seeker at the
table: Lawrence O'Donnell. Thank you for that. But when
someone like O'Donnell says you are lying, that should give
you pause.

Some criticism should be shrugged off. You just consider the
source. But some criticism should not be dismissed.
