Is there any way to successfully counter the brainwashing of FOX and |
|
right wing radio? The corporate media doesn't help matters, either. We feel better when we vent on DU and have folks "support" our views but what is that doing in the real world? I'm afraid a Zombie attack is imminent.

P.s. I know it's evil to wish for the death of even evil people. I don't care. I do wish they would die soon so the harm they do to the world would be limited finally.

The Fairness Doctrine worked for decades, but there's no going back to that.
IMO media figures should be legally liable for knowingly disseminating false information.

It's a very complex question you bring up. But one way would for Democrats to stop legitimizing Republican Corporate Right Wing Talking Points so often.

6. It seems to me that lie after lie after lie is spewed on the teevee and |
|
goes unchallenged by the "media". Boehner's speech the other night seemed full of holes and FOX has talking heads saying the most outrageous untruths non-stop (See Jon Stewart last night's edition). Propaganda is being catapulted and the Democrats seem to be hunkered in their fox holes with their arms shielding their heads.

Do not share the blame for the disaster they are trying to create by moving further to the right. If you can't stop them then let it happen. The sooner people get a mouthful of the bitter medicine the GOP is selling the sooner they'll get over their infatuation with conservatism.

8. I have thought that, somewhat. The problem is that the mind fields have been |

fertilized to the point that Liberals will be blamed and the blame will be accepted by the rank and file FOX watchers. A witch hunt will ensue and there will be blood, Liberal blood. Reasoning and logic are endangered species in this situation, I'm afraid.

They can't do satire, or humor in any form. They try and fail.
Libruls are the thinkers, creatives, innovators unhindered by dogma or having to do everything the way it's always been done. Historically, satire has always been effective.

violent overthrow of the country? Would you protect those who threaten to tank our economy? This will hurt millions. Do you think it ok to just let lies be spread that undermines our way of life with its social protections, etc? I am looking at you and wondering if you perceive the threat and what would you suggest be done about it. There IS brainwashing going on, imo. It will prove to be injurious to millions. What can we do to peacefully counter this?

If it's not criminal but it is defamatory, then somebody somewhere has standing to sue for libel or slander. If you have standing, you can sue. If someone else has standing, then it's their problem and not yours.
What's the problem?

The Democrats don't seem to stick to a platform and don't seem to rally around the common people and their needs. This is not true for all Dems but the perception is that they are just going along to get along.
