2. The Reps are predictable, so Obama has been able to
game them. It has been easy for Obama to play the only adult in the room because of who he is dealing with.

Let's see if Boehner's plan passes the house. If it doest, get some popcorn and enjoy the show. That will make life easier for Reid because he won't have to explain the no vote.

From the artist's blog:

Debt Ceiling cartoonUgh, what more can I say. This whole thing reminds me more and more of Naomi Klein's Shock Doctrine every day. Manufacture a crisis, use the ensuing sense of panic to impose draconian cuts to programs people desperately need, and voila! Utopia at last. Never mind that Reagan raised the debt ceiling 18 times, and Dubya 7, or that Clinton balanced the budget, or that the vast bulk of our current deficit was formed under Bush. The hypocrisy is simply astounding.

5. It's shock and awe level hypocrisy.
And we like it!

I really really do not want a Republican in the White House ever again. And I really really will not cast a vote for Obama, either.

7. I think he's been playing the Reps, by seemingly moving right
he is forcing the Reps even further right. If you noticed, every "Conservative" stance he's taken has been rejected by the Republicans. The only reason they are doing it is because Obama suggested it. The more they do that, the smaller they appear in the eyes of the public.

Don't read too much into the details of negotiations.
