The tragedy is going to present a big problem for the GOP because
It reminds me of when Princess Di was killed and in the aftermath there was a few months there that people really gave the cold shoulder to the gossip rags. The sales went down and in my supermarket I remember due to customer requests they put Enquirer, Star etc. behind opaque stands so that the cover wasn't visible to the people in line, they were so offended by it.

Well of course the trash papers are back up front, just like the dumb "reload" rhetoric will be back eventually, but in the short run, people are not going to react positively to the violent/war/fear blah blah over the top shit that Rush etc do. The hard core RW will, but most people will have no stomach for it for awhile with this tragedy up front.

I can't imagine WHAT ELSE they would do. Every right wing argument, if debated fairly, is nonsense, so they always end up screeching about commies and free-dumb. Do they even HAVE a plan B to the idiot inflammatory rhetoric?

1. Palin is going to have to change her act

that in itself is probably giving Fox News the vapors because let's face it - the only thing that fame whore has going for her is the red meat she tossed her rabid fans

2. Can you imagine a Sarah with a positive view towards
people who don't think exactly as she does? Or being willing to engage in debate regarding details and specifics of policy, rather than "real Americans vs Bad Lib-ruls" bullshit? What they hell would she do? She's got NUTHIN.

aw I don't know; it's all just so depressing...I feel like our "mainstream media" aided and abetted these clownish teabagger bastards and we are seeing the inevitable result

10. Half of the daytime radio broad casts should be 'Local' programming
These non-stop right wing broadcast stations need to breakup their 24/7 indoctrination with a small percentage of time given to opposing viewpoints. The air waves belong to all the people, not just those on the right side of the isle.

8. It will blunt one of their trump cards - "The rugged individualist"
They will have to refrain from playing the concept of the "Rugged Individualist" who faces the western frontier with noting more than his wits and his trusty gun.

11. If the Moderate GOPs were Smart . . .
(which is doubtful) this could be the moment they could disengage from the extremists in their midst.

12. Unfortunately BushCo all but did away with "moderate GOPs"
And now it's like any GOP who is half-way reasonable gets harassed out of office by the teabaggers. Remember the "Town Hall" stuff?
