The term "small business" |
|
In the USA that is up to 500 employees.
I am uncertain if most people have that knowledge when they listen to the politicians start with the "small business" talk.

When asked to name small business in our area, my grandmother replied with Meijer and Sam's Club as well as Chili's and Applebee's.
In fact, the only major chain around here she didn't mention was Wal-Mart...of course, she got that one in Sam's Club, but I doubt she even knows the connection.

A guy sitting across from me had a 3 ring binder with the name of one of the big defense contractors, Northrup Grumman (sp?), I think. There was this company logo and underneath there was a statement saying that the big defense contractor qualified as a small business. I wish I had asked the guy about it.
