Let's crawl out of Alice's rabbit hole and get real
Reality: We are in two (or three or four) wars that are bleeding us dry and that we
must walk away from.

Reality: Social Security is the only income that many elderly people have. They will die without it.

Reality: Medicare/Medicaid is the only health plan most elderly people have. They will die without it.

Reality: Far too many millions of Americans are out of work and don’t know where to turn. What are they to do with no paycheck and no prospects?

Reality: Far too many millions of Americans have been laid off and are too old to realistically hope to ever get hired again.

Reality: Those who own the Republican Party don’t give a shit about any of this.

Reality: Far too many Democrats are also owned.

Reality: We need a strong president in the mold of FDR, or LBJ and we don’t currently have one.

Reality: The tea baggers want us to default on our debt. They are just too fucking stupid to grasp the magnitude of the catastrophe that would cause.

Reality: Far too many Americans are so clueless that they think the tea baggers are right.

Reality: The rest of the people in the civilized countries on this planet think we have gone insane.

Reality: It’s very possible that America has gone totally, bugshit, insane.

Reality: Stop believing that none of this will affect you. You’re life has changed forever.

2. I agree because we can. "Will we" is a different matter.
Too many would rather go deeper in because they think it is the lower risk scenario others would rather starve to death than confront the status quo others are stupid enough to think they and their's will be alright.

4. True. I don't think there's anything civil we can do to put an end to any of the above.
I think we are finally cooked. I realize this is a defeatist attitude but I can't think of a winning scenario. imho

8. Maybe. If our present situation had arisen out of anything else other than
STUPIDITY, I think I could better handle my feelings.

9. I may be overly cynical but I do not believe serendipity led us to where we now find ourselves.
I suspect something far more insidious than poor negotiating skills or naivety.

15. Oh, I definitely agree with these two statements. I was being kind using
stupidity as an excuse. Outwardly, it appears that way EXCEPT it's too deliberate to be that.

10. I think eventually people are going to snap and say enough is enough. Not every
republican and teabagger is on the millionaires list. A lot of these people are dirt poor, eventually they are going to wake up when they get a clue about what's going on.

Right now many of them are probably slapping their backside saying hey, this is great. When the checks stop, unemployment rises more and we sink further as a nation, just then, hopefully, they will start waking up ... but it might be too late.

18. We have no way of getting our message out to the public. The overlords own the media.
We have no real way of replacing our Congress critters with true representatives of the people. IMO if we get to unruly the overlords will just turn the screws tighter. As long as We the People are paying the cost of prisons, they will continue to put us in them.

11. The revolution has been cancelled due to indifference, stupidity,
lack of attention, and a uniquely American disease called "We're Number One." Why would anyone ignorant enough to shriek "We're Number One" even think that a revolution was necessary?

American arrogance and ignorance will bury us all. But why should we be any different than any other empire in the history of the world?

17. And I thought I was a negative Nellie (apologies to the Nellie's)
There will be a Revolution. But it will come too late. Instead of a organized movement like the Civil Rights movement, "we" will wait until we are past the tipping point and then become violent. Violence will only give our oppressors an excuse to eliminate more of our rights.

Some will say that Egypt resorted to violence and I say, yeah wait til you see what government they end up with before you decide they are a model.

22. Yep, American Excellence, striving to be further down the list, but hey, we're
number one in arrogance and ignorance. We have the route to a failed empire down really well.

12. Reality: Let the Bush tax cuts expire
If tax cuts helped get us into this mess, then tax increases can help get us out.

Otherwise it looks like you are making social security and medicare recipients pay for the fucking wars and tax cuts for millionaires. Which you are.

16. Actually, seven wars.
Let's not forget the war they've declared on us. It's a war that requires no guns or bombs. All they have to do is lay us off, sit back, and watch us starve. And so far, it seems to be working out well for them.
