5. Fine. I despise what the incompetent side of the House is doing,
can't even pass their own horrible bill. This proves beyond a doubt that they are jackasses.

6. I'm getting concerned...
mostly about the people who can't afford this nonsense - those who have been out of work and rely on unemployment or other benefits, those who rely on SS, Medicare, and government workers at the state level, etc, etc. It looks like the Republicans would rather throw us to the wolves than be reasonable. Most of this entire day has been a charade, because Boeher knew he didn't have the votes. I suppose like most Republicans, he figured he'd just pull them out of his ass, or Jeebus would hand them to him. I don't know what to think anymore. My country does not much resemble the country I swore I once knew. It's really difficult to watch all this and know people are scared and might suffer needlessly because of some two-bit Tea Baggers. Bin Laden couldn't do as much harm to this country in 10 lifetimes as the Republicans have done in 10 years. I really don't know what's going to happen if we default, but am nervous because the people supposedly in the know seem very nervous.

7. Earlier I listened to
Edited on Thu Jul-28-11 09:55 PM by MyshkinCommaPrince
"The Story of Willy", by King Missile. Then I talked to the cat, scratched his back for his required five minutes, and teased him with a bit of string until he'd had enough and bit me by way of explaining that fact. Ate some dinner, read outside with the mosquitoes, fell asleep for a bit. Woke slowly, sipping coffee, and toyed with a nearby Tom Baker action figure toy, which I made act out the "It's Chowdah!" scene from the Simpsons. Now it's evening, I'm covered in mosquito itches, and I've just been reminded about the debt ceiling deadline. But all is not lost. No, all is not lost.

Basically, a bit freaked out & down-hearted, consequently trying to distract myself with silliness.
