American politics and values |
|
America has always (in a negative light) been at the fore front of spreading its form of government and system through the world--and I don't been aggressively like in Iraq--you can trace this back to South Korea in the 1950s, Vietnam in the 1960s and 1970s, Latin America inthe 1970s to 1980s. Now, with its own internal politics skewed (and I dont just mean the shooting, the chaotic protests etc) this gives a whole new negative conotation for American ideals to be adopted. Say this scenario: Why should country X reform its system to be a democracy in order to get aid from the USAID/US MCC/MCA? Would this not lead to a system like present America?
