Will you feel sorry for the idiots who showed at tea party rallies? I sure as hell won't.

I doubt if it comes to default that those will be the checks the Prez stops, but it could get so bad that he might not have a choice.

2. Yanno Maryellen, I am almost ready to take a deep breath and hope for it
Idiot freshmen with NO CONCEPT of economics or how Government works. I VERY close to the point to want to see it all crash if that means the adults can retake the reigns of government.

6. Unfortunately, they would spin it as being Obama's fault
They'll portray Obama and the Democrats' insistence on modest tax increases for the rich as the sole cause for the economic collapse. They'll be branding Obama as "Carter II". They'll make damned sure that Obama's name is synonymous with the coming economic collapse, just as Hoover's name is associated with the Great Depression. They've already shown they have little use for historical facts, doesn't matter if they themselves were the cause.

7. They still can't get their mind around what a debt ceiling is - that is is
paying bills already authorized. They are all convinced to a tea-bagging-one that this is a move to hand Obama a blank checkbook with no congressional oversight.

9. Actually, they view this as a chance to hold America hostage to get their way
Their end goal is a balanced budget amendment. Rather than pursuing such an amendment through normal legislative processes, they view this as a chance to hold the country hostage and force Congress to pass it.

12. WORD!!
I work in a federal building that is full to the brim with double-dipping tea bagger trash! Ewww. They get nice guaranteed paychecks in addition to a pension that the government is already giving their asses. They are old and often incompetent freaks not qualified to empty the trash can.

I get VA disability but I'll be fine if the check does not come. I just keep on saying it... I don't feel a damn bit of sympathy for the wing nuts nor do I feel sympathy for those on the left who did not bother to vote. No vote is a vote for - so enjoy it!:o

5. It's hard to feel sorry for destructive hateful ignorant people but i do feel
sorry for all of us as we suffer. Personally, I wish we could sue them for damages for their willful negligence. That includes the billionaires that have funded our excursion into darkness.

10. Obama's Speech You'll Never Hear
My fellow Americans – all of us have been witnessing a
shameful display of partisan self-interest from members of the
US House of Representatives whose Constitutional duty is to
initiate spending bills in the US Congress. Their inability
to propose a bill to raise the debt ceiling as a bona fide and
good faith effort, putting compromise ahead of gridlock, and
putting the interests of the United States foremost has
already damaged the full faith and credit of our country at
home and abroad. The delay in accomplishing this simple task,
that has been passed dozens of times before with Republican
and Democratic Congressional majorities and with Republican
and Democratic Presidents, and with split powers between
Congress and the President – is inexcusable.

The time has come to cut the crap and pay attention to the
matter at hand. I am proposing Presidential Bill 911 – a
straight up or down vote on raising the debt limit sufficient
to last over 2 years – to extend beyond the next election in
2012. This will have no budget cuts, no tax increases, no
partisan poison pills, no campaigning points, no pork – just
100% pure American Beef – raise the debt limit and get on with
the important business of this country. I expect this bill
back on my Desk tomorrow. I expect the American people share
my frustration and will support this bill.

You may wonder why this bill is numbered 911. I do not take
this designation lightly. Raising the Debt limit IS a matter
of national security. We are engaged in 2 wars against
terrorism. Our soldiers need equipment and supplies, and they
and their families here at home deserve to be paid and not to
worry about their next pay check. Our enemies around the world
are constantly waiting for an opportunity to strike when our
guard is down, when we are distracted, when we lose focus. And
our soldiers can not and will not be distracted with financial
concerns about their families. Anyone who acts against the
interests of our national security is no patriot – only a
coward hiding behind unbending stubbornness and calling it
principle. Those who are threatening our country from within
by not allowing the government to spend money and pay our
obligations think they can hold this President hostage and
threaten our citizens who depend on our government for
defense, for salaries, for student loans, for retirement
payments, for Medicaid, for safe air travel, for regulated
communication through the airwaves, for guarantees on home
mortgages, for clean air to breathe and water to drink , for
safe foods and safe medicines – all essential roles of our
government.

Some in Congress have said “we must cut up Uncle Sam’s credit
cards.” Well what good for the goose is good for the gander.
I have notified the National Security Agency and the
Department of the Treasury that I am declaring the House of
Representatives a terrorist organization – frankly these
home-grown terrorists pose more of a threat to our nation
than the Iranian Republican guard - All of their assets are
now frozen. Every bank account has been frozen and seized -
and every credit credit card is max’ed out – no more spending
allowed. Their homes are now property of the US Government –
likewise their cars, planes, boats, and other personal assets.
Their salaries are the first payment Uncle Sam will default
on. Their cell phone accounts are terminated, their internet
accounts turned off, their health insurance cancelled. Any
pending payments for rent, mortgage, or their children’s
college tuition will be returned for insufficient funds. Power
and water are now cut off from the Congressional Office
buildings. The Congressional subway is off. Their limousines
and drivers are gone. The Congressional cafeteria is closed.
They are off the government handout list. Their government
pensions are gone. Their Social Security accounts are zeroed.
Their stocks and bonds, IRAs, 401Ks - are seized. An FBI
agent has been assigned to track each of their movements. If
they pull out a wallet it will be seized. They will not be
able to pay for a shoe shine or a cup of coffee or have a dime
for a public toilet. Anyone attempting to provide funds to
them will be charged with aiding and abetting a terrorist.
Once the debt limit is surpassed these seized assets will be
liquidated to provide Uncle Sam additional funds to meet our
obligations. This will be irreversible – just as damaging our
country’s faith and credit is irreversible. I do not intend
for these assets to be returned if the debt ceiling is not
extended and we begin to default on our obligations.

You may say that this is unconstitutional or an abuse of
Presidential power. I say to all of you – who is abusing their
power ?– Who is ignoring their obligations? Who is damaging
our country’s interests? If you have the votes and the
support of the American people then Bring it on - I would
gladly face an impeachment rather than let this country down
and not do everything in my power to protect and defend this
great nation of ours from every threat foreign and domestic.

Congress has a simple choice. Convene – pass Bill 911 in both
Houses and return it to my desk before the debt limit is
exceeded– raise the debt limit without petty politics – or
I’ll cut your credit cards .
Good Night and God Bless America!
