GOP unfit to govern and unfit to legislate. |
|
The news as reported today is beginning to frame the legislation that is likely to come out of Congress regarding the debt ceiling. With the "Speaker of the bouncy house" unable to pass a bipartisan bill that can make in thru both chambers, the buzz is that McConnell will pitch his idea again and throw the responsibility in the lap of the President in an attempt to place all the heat on President Obama.
However, I would read this as the GOP is unfit to Govern and unfit to legislate. The economy is at stake, peoples retirement, 401K, SSI, Home values, Vet's benefits, etc. and the only group the GOP is willing to protect is the super wealthy.
Also throwing the ball to the President because you cannot get it across the line does not place heat on the President, it places heat on you!
Unfit...

Like to play games of partisan Red River.
It's okay when we do it, as from my knowledge, raising the debt ceiling was commonplace in the Bush, Reagan, Clinton, Bush Sr. eras - but now that President Obama is in power and the Teabaggers are now in opposition - having taken over the Republican party - it's some big issue that requires cutting social programs and increasing tax cuts to the rich.
It's appalling.

And... that's where it ends. Their ideas are unworkable. Their version of the political process kills democracy.

4. They aren't interested in legislating. They hate government |

except when they are collecting their taxpayer supported paycheck and benefits and cozying up to lobbyists with fat wallets. Working on behalf of the citizenry never even dawns on them.

5. I'd actually like to stop labeling it "the GOP" or "the Republicans".. |

No, I'm not suggesting phony bipartisanship.
I'm suggesting naming them as individuals, and insisting that political affiliation or ideology does not justify irresponsible behavior. Some of them clearly need, not just medication, but guardians - they need to lose the right to function as independent citizens, like anyone else who mindlessly destroys things they don't understand, irrespective of who they belong to.
I don't care if they're on Thorazine or in jail, but they clearly need to be forcibly put somewhere they can't hurt things.
