Cutting into Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid,... |
|
...mortgage interest deduction, healthcare deductions, and pension contribution deductions...with no pain whatsoever to the wealthy in this country.
There is your "shared" sacrifice.

2. But....but....he's not going to do that! |
|
You jut have to ignore the fact that he put together the Catfood Commission without any orders from anyone else or any obligation to do so, and ignore the fact that his choices were stacked with anti-SS/Medicare folks, ignore the fact that multiple accounts from multiple people have indicated that he put these cuts on the table, that he himself as well as his spokespeople have talked about "entitlement reform", that he has already caved once on the tax cuts for the wealthy, that the Healthcare reform was actually at most 25% reform and 75% giveaways to the insurance industry.
So I mean really, if you just ignore all of that then it's quite clear that you are wrong and that he would not cut any of those things.

8. You also have to ignore that he's a Hamiltonian Dem, |
|
LOVES the Free Market, has dropped the theory of stimulating the economy by govt spending, and has bought into the Republican Austerity program hook, line, and sinker. If he's a New Dem, I don't want any part of it.

heard concern and anger from the other side of the political spectrum in my own family. Very few back the Repubs plan and most are scared to death that they will be sacrificed on the alter of Tea Pary correctness. I do not mean sacrificed metamorphically I mean literally. Those of us dependent on Social Security and Medicare will not survive without those programs.
