She's from Florida. Born in 1956. Didn't finish high school because she felt a DUTY to join the Air Force. Who does that in 1973 or so? See how they phrased, so you won't see her as a slacker. Then she got married and got out and had a baby. Spent a year total in the Air Force.

She left that husband cuz he was abusive. So there she was, a single mom struggling to feed her kid and get her GED! See - if she can do it, so can you. She worked for the sheriff's department and got married again. Her husband, also a sheriff deputy - killed on duty. Can't say anything there- poor lady.

She did get her degree in criminal justice in 2000. I'm not familiar with that degree program. All I know is that my 64 yr old SO is thinking of finishing his degree in that field since it has basic math requirement only. I swear he has a math blockage and can't grasp algebra. He is determined to get a degree before he leaves this earth!!

1. I'll bet she got some kind of govermental help
while she "...was a single mom struggling to feed her kid...". Just a guess, though.

2. I'm surprised she didn't get her GED while she was in the Air Force - slacker!
Was the draft still going on? Maybe she joined to be with her future abusive husband who joined so he wouldn't be sent to Vietnam. That's patriotism for you!

5. I am surprised the Air Force let her in, in the first place
I thought they only allowed high school graduates. Pretty sure by '73 the Draft had ended and standards were much higher.

6. I looked it up and draft ended june of 1973.
Maybe back then they weren't as choosy? Now it is hard to get in - people are waiting years.

3. She's had some kind of government paid job for most of her life
She's been sucking on that teat like there's no tomorrow. She is not a self made person. She didn't go on and start her own company and provided jobs and boost the economy. She took and took and took, and now she's taking more!!!

4. Hey, I flunked algebra and had to repeat
in H.S. My other grades were so good they had to pass me. But, tell your SO to get the Excel program on your computer. I was 55 before I could understand algebra. Excel showed me how to read and work equations. I thought to myself If only I had been taught that way I could have sailed through algebra. Some of us have a mental block on certain things but eventually come out of a coma. I am 79 now and try to work on some other blockage each day.

8. Dropped out of high school, then joined the Air Force -because she needed a job (a government
job, no less)..and the military is a *very* reliable source of employment. Then she meets some guy and gets knocked up. Then she works for the Sheriff's department (another taxpayer-funded job).

..and now she's in Congress (again, paid by taxpayers). She's been on the government "teat" for most of her adult life.
