U.S. Sen. Reid: Moving forward with debt limit bill
U.S. Sen. Reid: Moving forward with debt limit bill

U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid on Friday said that he "cannot wait any longer" for the Republican-led House of Representatives to act on a debt limit increase and he will begin taking steps to move legislation.

Reid, a Democrat, also called on Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell to immediately work with him on a compromise bill that could be enacted before an Aug. 2 deadline.

Democrats are pushing a $2.5 trillion debt limit increase. Reid said Congress will not pass a short-term increase. (Reporting by Richard Cowan)

1. Let's go with a clean bill raising the debt limit
and fuck the compromise. No point in pulling the pukes asses out of the fire. Ask yourself Harry, would they do the same for us?

2. If Boehner couldn't get cross-over votes.....how will Reid be able to get them
If GOP Boehner couldn't get 100% party-line vote much less cross-over votes......how does Reid plan on getting past the filibusterer, get 60 votes in the Senate, and then get 217 votes in the House that is controlled by stubborn Tea Party folks.

Wouldn't Reid and Boehner be forced to find something in the middle between the two contrasting bills.
