At this point is any of this more difficult than just getting a clean debt bill through Congress?

This is just a general question.

I thought last night that had Boehner been trying to get the 4 trillion dollar "grand bargain" through Congress, it actually would have had a BETTER CHANCE to pass. The Tea Party would have been against it (as always) but it would have had at least some Democratic support. I argue the "Grand Bargain was more likely to pass the house than Boehner's own bill!

That brings me to the clean debt ceiling bill. At this point, between the "new" Boehner program, The Reid program and the McConnell program..... are any these any more difficult to pass both houses than a clean debt ceiling bill?

If all 187 Dems support the bill, we would only need 30-35 Reps to pass it (Some blue dogs always run away... its their nature.). In the Senate a straight majority. Why not?

What is the difference between fighting for this... and all of the other bills currently circling through Congress?

1. A clean bill makes absolute sense.
But in the Wonderland that this country has turned into, sense and sensibility are about as alive as Jane Austen

3. If 90 Tea Party members walked away

there would still be enough votes to pass it.

Plus at this point, isn't the Tea Party going to walk away from anything realistic anyway?

4. Boehner will not let a clean bill pass...
His caucus would kick him out of the speaker's chair so fast his ass would be left behind.

Also, I don't think you will find republicans who are not scared shitless of the Teaparty caucus who are calling the shots.

So at this moment, a clean bill is impossible.
