The Teatalitarians are as great a threat to this democracy as communism ever was. We have just begun to see how far they want to take their autocratic, dictatorial rule. If they continue to constitute a force in government, the latest debt crisis will just be the beginning. They are not only taking their marching orders from the Koch Brothers and other astroturf syndicates. Their leader Grover Norquist will not be satisfied with merely holding taxes as they are. This is the guy who called the IRS a terrorist organization. This is the guy who stated proudly that he wanted to shrink the U.S. government down to a size where it could be drowned in a bathtub. In this article (link below) authored by Grover Norquist, he advocated repeal of the 16 Amendment. He wants to do away with federal income tax. You just know that such measures are going to be coming down the pipe in months to come, even if we do manage to get beyond the current manufactured debt ceiling crisis. Even if we were to enact a balanced budget amendment, they wouldn't stop with that. The Teatalitarians will soon be coming across our TV screens telling us why we need to do away with the 16th Amendment and try to make this into a mainstream argument. And the corporate media will play along, making it sound like one of two legitimate positions.
http://www.claremont.org/publications/pubid.477/pub_detail.aspI saw a rebroadcast last night of the debate on the new legislation being proposed in the House for doing away with the workers' remedy to enjoin a company from ending his job and shipping it to a new plant cross country if he or she exercises his right to collective bargaining. The Teatalitarians want to intervene in current litigation involving what Boeing Aircraft did to their workers. This is direct interference with an ongoing trial. The Democrats at the hearing looked stunned, as if someone had hit them over the head with a mallet. The Tea Partiers were openly bashing unions and saying that the government has to get off the backs of the American People, as if union members were not people themselves. They proposed that a company should be able to move to any state they like, whatever the consequences to its workers and even if the company exercises this power to end jobs because they don't want women or black people working for them. It's not only the ignorance they displayed but their lack of concern for the facts that scared me, even more than if the Communist Party was being represented in those hearings, promoting an overthrow of the federal government. The Teatalitarians didn't care at all about the facts of any other ongoing cases involving the NRLB at the present time and how this retroactive legislation would affect them. They were like flesh-eating zombies, with no minds.
Those hearings scared me more than anything has scared me in a long, long time.
