How to get your Rep's email address? Help? |
|
I want my congressman's email address in my address book. If you go to the website, you have to fill in an bunch of info which is time consuming and daunting.
Anybody know how to get the actual address and put it into your address book? Thanks.

http://www.usa.gov/Contact/Elected.shtmlYou will probably have to type the address into your address book manually and some reps only have a contact page to use, so you would have to fill that out.

3. I just wrote an atta girl to my rep. |
|
I had to click on the link from her email to me in order to reach her. I found my senators online at http:www.(last name).senate.gov It pays to double check. You can also find out by doing a search: contact (name of rep or sen). I still had to go to their websites and email from there because they don't want mail, opinion, or heat from those whom are not their constituents. Good luck! :hi:
Here's my letter to Nita Lowey:
Dear Representative Lowey:
Please don't allow the nation to default. I don't need to tell you all the reasons why this tactic is wrong in every way. We need for our safety nets to continue to function and the best way to make sure they are funded now and in the future is to create jobs. I need not point out that the Bush tax cuts have resulted in fewer jobs and lesser jobs, so the assertion that allowing the wealthy to pay lower taxes to create jobs has proven false.
There are other ways to save money and here are a few: end the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, close tax loopholes that allow corporations making billions of dollars to avoid paying taxes altogether, eliminate mortgage deductions on second, third, and fourth homes, stop subsidizing corporations with our tax dollars, especially since many of them seem to be buying Congressional votes with our money.
Politics are unimportant. Good government is what we want and need. I am happy with the job you are doing; please don't let us down on this.
Very truly yours, (my name, address, & zip)

She's a good rep. I'm happy with my rep now too and may just send him a similar atta boy email.

4. I sent my Republican Teabagging Congressman an e-mail |
|
calling him everything in the book. He sent me an e-mail thanking me for supporting him and the Paul Ryan budget to (save) SS, Medicare and Medicaid. So apparently any e-mail they take as someone supporting their position.

That's the Capitol Hill Switchboard number. For anyone who just wants to call. You can get to your Reps by calling that number.

And there were times when I was posting about every new TOLL FREE Capitol Hill number I came across.
I've tried to stay on top of 'em because some of these go out of commission after awhile. I think they're all updated but I do know that the first number in there is brand new (at least to me) and I used it this morning to call david dreier's office and make trouble!.
Please feel free! And I'll get back on some of these and double-check that they're still working.
:hi: :fistbump: :yourock: :patriot:
On edit - UPDATED. The second number is a White House toll free number.

15. My letter to my Blue Dog rep, who voted "No" along with the rest of the House Dems: |
|
Dear Rep. Baca, Thank you for your "No" vote on the teabagger insanity today, the Boehner bill that attempted to attach a balanced budget amendment to the debt ceiling increase. Please hold out if at all possible for a clean debt ceiling increase bill, with NO compromises regarding Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid or anything else. The teabagger zealots are insane and see any sort of compromise as weakness. They clearly regard President Obama and all Democrats not just as the opposition but the enemy. Long-term budget issues that may have life or death consequences down the line should not be debated or signed into law when the economy and the future of the American people are being held hostage by terrorists. Thank you again for your vote, and please keep standing strong for the people of your district. Sincerely,
