Obama’s approval numbers hit all-time low

The president’s 40 percent approval rating follows a Pew Research Center for the People and the Press poll released Thursday that found Obama’s support among independents has eroded a great deal. 54 percent of independents disapprove of Obama’s performance as president, according to the Pew poll, the most during his time in office. Just 36 percent approve of the job he is doing.

Obama’s approval numbers hit all-time low

President Barack Obama’s approval rating sank to a new low Friday, according to Gallup’s daily presidential tracking poll.

Just 40 percent of Americans say they approve of Obama’s performance as president. That is down three percentage points from Thursday. 50 percent say they do not approve of the job he is doing.

3. If Obama were to fight harder
to further the cause of Democrats and Democratic principals then this post wouldn't even be here.

Good job taking aim at the messenger and not the message.

10. Maybe in the short term, but not in the long. Not if we had to default
because a compromise couldn't be reached.

9. So news you don't like, you don't want to read?
The question you should be asking is how does a President like this further the cause of Democrats, or if he does that at all.

Reagan had a 40% approval at the same time.

32. Perhaps you prefer this other thread, posted earlier, that uses the same
site but changes the words so they are more pleasant for some to look at. The subject line is not the same as the heading of the linked of the linked article, but some seem to prefer fabrication.

5. But his AVERAGE approval rate is NOT the lowest he's ever had.

Average approval rating GRAPH: http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/other/president_obama_job_approval-1044.html

p.s. Ya can't go by just one poll, because the republican backed polls always give Obama low numbers.
It is better to keep on eye on the 'average' of ALL polls over a period of time.

p.s.s. Obama's numbers are better than many recent former president's numbers in the same time period of presidency.

14. What are the trends? A single poll is fairly useless, but trends can be interesting.
Also, what are his disapproval numbers as compared to others, like Boehner and Congress, and what are their trends? All that info would say more than a lone poll does. As evidenced above, people tend to like the polls they agree with and ignore the ones they don't, so it's nice to have more info available to draw conclusions from than one poll.

disapproval ratings right now, and no one is buying the "debt crisis" sham.

15. But, but, but...Progressives and the base don't matter! The independents will be
the ones who re-elect Obama! (Or so I keep hearing from the administration's faithful).

Time for some bold progressive moves, Mr. President.

19. My parents once told me that you must always stand for your own and who you are.
Am I seeing this in Obama these days? Not exactly. I'm seeing him trying to be nice to those who degrade him, disrespect him, ridicule him, drag him through the mud.

22. I find it interesting...
that Generic Republican can beat Obama, yet not a single Republican with a name can. The only one that comes close is Romney and Romney is one of those people the more you get to know him the less you like him, just sayin.
